Sky acquires “Nike’s Big Bet” produced by Cream Films & Paul Kemp ahead of Hot Docs premiere

(Realscreen) — UK broadcaster Sky has picked up Paul Kemp’s Nike’s Big Bet: Alberto Salazar and the Fine Line of Sport ahead of its North American premiere at Hot Docs this Thursday (April 29).

Distributor Abacus Media Rights, part of Amcomri Media Group, also sold the film (pictured) to DR (Denmark), Channel Hot8 (Israel), Watcha (South Korea), Canal+ (Poland), and Nordic Entertainment Group (Finland, Norway, Sweden, Iceland and the Baltics).

Canadian pubcaster CBC and ZDF/Arte (Germany/France) came on board as early partners through deals brokered with the film’s producers.

Produced by Paul Kemp Productions and Cream Films, part of Toronto-based Cream Productions, in partnership with the Globe and Mail, the 84-minute investigative documentary tells the story of American track coach Alberto Salazar and Nike’s Oregon Project, established in 2001.
